Action
A gambling term for the total amount of bets/money placed on a casino game or at a casino during a gambling session.
All In (Poker)
Relating to a no-limit poker game such as Texas Hold'em poker, a player goes all in when they place all their chips into the pot.
Ante (Poker)
Relating to poker games, the ante is the first bet that must be made in order to see the cards.
Any Craps
Any craps is a single-roll bet covering 2, 3, or 12.
Any Seven (Craps)
Any seven is a single-roll bet covering any combination of 7.
Banker
In card games the banker is the dealer.
Bankroll
Bankroll is the amount of money of a player’s budget for gambling either in a session, or for all gambling.
Base (Craps)
The base is the area on the craps table where bets are made and paid.
Base Dealer (Craps)
The base dealer is the dealer in charge of one of the bases on the craps table. They take care of betting and payouts.
Basic Strategy
In Blackjack you need a basic strategy to get the best out of the game. This is a mathematically based strategy to play every hand according to the best possible chance of winning a blackjack hand.
Bet
The act of wagering or gambling on a casino game.
Betting Limits
The ranges of bet sizes that a casino game allows i.e. the minimum and maximum amounts of money a player can place on a bet for gambling.
Blackjack
Blackjack is a casino card game where the aim is to get a hand of 21 or as close to 21 without going over (bust). You need to beat the dealer’s hand to win in blackjack. If the hand totals 21 the player has blackjack.
Blind Bets (Poker)
A bet that is made without the player seeing their cards.
In Texas Hold em, the small blind and big blind are forced to make a bet due to their position relating to the button.
Blinds
A forced bet in Texas Hold Em Poker.
Bluff (Poker)
When a poker player with no hand or a poor hand makes a bet or bets indicating that they have a good hand.
Burn Card (Casino Card Games)
A burn card is any card that is removed/discarded from the deck.
Bust (Blackjack)
When the total of your blackjack hand has exceeded 21 you cannot win and have gone bust.
Buy in
The amount of money used to buy chips before entering games of blackjack, poker, craps, roulette, or other gambling/casino games.
